On April 26, former Rozaho Bistro, of Upper Kololo – a Kampala Suburb, will officially drop the name that it has until today plyed its trade under. The hangout spot has rebranded to Roza Dymz.
If you have strolled past Plot 21 Upper Kololo Terrace, in the recent past then you have most probably gazed the serene and somewhat high-end Rozaho Bistro. However, the establishment has recently undergone a major facelift and is promising a revamped offering to be unveiled on Friday this week.
This comes at a time when Kampala nightlife continues to metamorphose with the frequent closures and rebrands of bars and hangout spots, something many industry players say will keep happening as the trends evolve.
As many other bars that have mushroomed in the recent past, Roza Dymz will be opened in a grand, extravagant style, with the headlining act being Veronica Lugya, commonly known as Vinka.
Roza Dymz is yet another addition to a growing chain of eateries and bars under Hugamara Group, a private equity firm that specializes in hospitality and fintech. Other brands under Hugamara which is owned by former Jumia Uganda chief exec, Ron Kawamara include The Villa (Bukoto), The Maze (Mbuya and Lugogo), and The Patio Cafe and Restaurant (Ntinda and Nsambya).
In a press statement released today, April 23, Vinka expressed her excitement to return to stage, performing some of her most notable club bangers among which include Believe, All Over You, Bailando, and her latest single – Nza Gukunda. The event, she said, “will be one for my energetic funs, who love to dance all night long”.
Vinka will also be joined by DJs Slick Stuart and Alisha, with the captivating stage presence of MC Shiela Salta as the host of the event.
“We are thrilled to have Vinka headlining our opening event,” said Elizabeth Kyomugisha on behalf of Roza Dymz. “Her energy and talent perfectly embody the night life experience and good vibes that Kampala night lovers crave for,” she added.
Kyomugisha intimated that: “The opening of Roza Dymz will be an evening of extravagance, fireworks, entertainment, and unparalleled hospitality. With Vinka and other celebrity artists on the line-up, guests can anticipate a night filled with electrifying performances and star-studded moments.”
