Uganda has already lost the next round of the Twitter war with Kenya. Thanks to Minister Anite

For now, we hope and pray that the infamous photo doesn’t catch the attention of our neighbors to the East. If it does, it will be invaluable artillery for the next round of Uganda Vs Kenya Twar.

Uganda won the recent round of the Uganda-Kenya Twar (Twitter war), thanks to Uganda’s first daughter, Natasha Museveni Karugire.

Someone had posted a photo of Natasha’s stunning looks in comparison with the Kenyan first daughter, Charlene Ruto. The consensus, even in Kenya, was that Uganda had won the round.

But it seems Uganda’s win won’t be lasting long. Thanks to our Minister who has betrayed her country by exposing her amateurism in romance.

‘Kissing’ was among the top trends on Twitter in Uganda for the better part of Monday. That’s after Evelyn Anite, Uganda’s State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization shared a photo of her kissing her husband, Allan Kajik.

The photo has stirred up Twitter. Top on the debate is whether what was going on actually qualifies to be termed as kissing. The jury is still out.

Novelist Kakwenza Rukirabashaija referred to it as “slurping up saliva” and went as far as saying this happens when one has a long “proboscis”.

Popular cartoonist, Jim Spire Ssentongo made a hilarious cartoon of what is believed to be Minister Anite and titled it ‘How to such fuel from a carburetor – Koboko Edition’. The illustration paints a picture of too much effort (her jugular veins are visible), one would conclude it was more of a fight.

The internet hasn’t only got itself a new meme, this is easily going straight into the books as reference each time there’s talk of How Not to Kiss.

It is the second time in a week that Anite, who has been on official leave, is publicly posting photos of her kissing with her husband of 12 years. On Twitter, she mostly posts about her personal life sometimes reminding those that care that Allan “is not just my darling husband” but “the captain of my ship”.

Not that some of her posts haven’t attracted backlash.

For now, we hope and pray that the infamous photo doesn’t catch the attention of our neighbors to the East. If it does, it will be invaluable artillery for the next round of Uganda Vs Kenya Twar. We already have so much of the usual odds (weak currency, three-decade Presidency, the general viciousness of KOT) stacked against us. We simply can’t afford any more loose ends.

Natasha redeemed us but on the next one, not even kneeling or the support of the majje will save us from shame.
