Producer Bushingtone was bashed after he asked the industry to cancel Gravity Omutujju

Gravity posted on social media indirectly relishing what happened to Chameleone after a heavy storm dismantled the stage forcing organizers to postpone the concert.

Following what we may call their ‘beef’, rapper Gravity Omutujju last month threw some hard jibes about veteran musician Jose Chameleone’s now postponed Gwanga Mujje concert.

Gravity asserted that Chameleone was going to get only a quarter of the crowd that attended Spice Diana’s concert held at Lugogo Cricket Oval last month.

His comments were met with criticism with most people taking his comments for nothing but a publicity stunt especially going by the fact that it wasn’t the first time he was going at Chameleone.

Much as Gravity’s comments had been forgotten, the Embuzi Zakutidde singer struck again on Friday when he took to his official social media accounts to indirectly relish what happened to Chameleone after a heavy storm dismantled the stage forcing organizers to postpone the concert.

“Katonda bwatyo bwasasula. Mukama akola,” read Gravity’s post, loosely translated as “that is how God pays. God works”.

This veiled message didn’t sit well with a section of the public, especially Jose Chameleone’s fans who were ready to throng Lugogo Cricket Oval for the concert. One of them is record producer and talent manager Bushingtone.

Meanwhile, Gravity released a new song on Monday titled Mukama Akola whose lyrics, on face value, have nothing to do with Chameleone. While Gravity might argue his Friday post was a promo for the song, his critics may argue the timing was problematic.

Bush as he is sometimes called tweeted a plea to the Ugandan music industry, asking that Gravity be canceled due to his comments.

“I think the whole industry needs to rally fans to boycott Gravity’s music, artistes should stop sharing stage with him, djs should stop playing his music. Let’s do all we can to show him what it means to be bad,” Bushington wrote in his tweet. Bush works with Fenon which was behind production for Gwanga Mujje concert.

But not everyone was in agreement. Including seasoned events manager and reggae music artist, Tshaka Mayanja.

“Ssebo, do you feel that’s a solution? I feel sorry for this generation of “Musicians” that glorifies intrigue and “beef” over ART. You’ve all plant these seeds, now you’re reaping what was sowed; bitterness. Music people, MUSIC unites” – Tshaka Mayanja.

“You can’t treat diarrhea by covering the anus, that is what you are doing” – arts journalist, Gabriel Buule.

“Stop being one-sided, when Chameleone beats someone, you don’t say this. Gravity who hasn’t beaten anyone, you’re saying they boycott him.. Stop being biased too” – Calvin Jinks.

“Which fans are you rallying behind what? We shall still listen and go to his shows and request Gravity’s songs. If you don’t play them we stop listening to your radios and TVs or even coming to your bars” – DNA Save.

“When Crysto Panda’s concert was hit by rain u didn’t show concern.. Chameleon isn’t special and Gravity is free to express his opinion. If we are talking of bad people then u who is talking people into boycotting is bad too. Fight hate with love” – Erimaniac.

“Why should Bushington decide for us? We are the audience who just attend whoever is ready to entertain us “our money our rules” whether Gravity or Chameleon they are both looking for the kids’ school fees and who are we to judge?” John Bosco.

These double standards. Whatever Gravity is alleged to have done, your guy has done 100x more. How about you preach more positivity than aiding suffocation?” – Ian Kiryowa.

“Bro it makes no sense, i think it’s more sensible for our industry to concentrate more on how to get to the top than planning to boycotts on one of your chess pieces” – Isaq.
