Lady Bezo moves to Kigali where she will be programs manager at Royal FM

Bezo launched her radio career in 2002 as a presenter of a morning show on Kampala FM (99.6) where she was for three years before she moved to Hot 100 (now defunct) as host of the evening show ‘Hot Cruise’

Popular media personality, Lady Bezo, has moved to Kigali, Rwanda where she will be heading programming at Royal FM.

Lady Bezo whose radio career spans two decades will also be co-hosting the ‘Drive Time’ with Humphrey. The show airs Monday to Friday between 4pm and 8pm.

Until her new roles in Kigali, Bezo worked with 92.7 Bob FM as host of the three-hour ‘Country Breakfast Show’.

On her new journey in Rwanda, she told Plugged; “I was totally humbled and in awe coz this is a new place but also the warm welcome, trust and confidence I received from my bosses was irresistible.”

She says the Royal FM listener should expect “more entertaining, educative and totally engaging programing” which rhymes with the station’s tagline The Heartbeat Of Kigali.

As exciting as the Kigali job is, Bezo confesses the decision to relocate from Kampala where she has built a formidable name for herself over the last 20 years as one of the most acclaimed media personalities, was difficult.

“To be honest, I’m struggling with the decision to work outside of Uganda every single morning and it took me more than 40 days to give them (Royal FM) my honest opinion about the offer,” she told Plugged.

On Royal, Bezo joins former Capital FM breakfast host Jackie Lumbasi who left Kampala for Kigali four years ago.

Bezo launched her radio career in 2002 as a presenter of a morning show on Kampala FM (99.6) where she was for three years before she moved to Hot 100 (now defunct) as host of the evening show ‘Hot Cruise’.

After a four-year stint at Hot 100, she moved to Spirit FM (96.6) where she did five years. In 2011, she crossed to the Country-only station Bob FM until this year.

The former media ambassador for Africell Uganda says her biggest highlight during her radio career has been “the overwhelming love and care from the fanbase whenever you meet them on functions and public spaces while emceeing”.

“Nothing beats that kind of feeling honestly.”

On top of radio, Lady Bezo has also done TV – working with Channel 44 (Fast Track 10 Countdown) for five years and Spirit TV (African Exclusive).

Lady Bezo is a celebrated events emcee and voice over artist for adverts, promos, events, documentaries and dramas.

She is also a certified media coach and communications consultant under her Hands On Skills initiative which she launched in 2020.
