Sheebah says she was sexually abused by someone who booked her for a show

It follows a number of incidents where female artistes like Vinka and Rena Nalumansi have previously been subjected to embarrassing acts including touching their crotch while on stage.

Sheebah has come out to share a nasty ordeal she went through over the weekend, saying she was sexually abused.

Without disclosing the identity of her abuser, she said she was performing for “somebody” when this incident occurred.

“One of those people you respect and call real role models. And they pretend on TV to look good and do good, and all that bullsh*t. This old pervert was trying to be odd with me, in my car,” she said in a video she posted on Monday.

She says the person in question (along with his security) opened her car where she was a sleep and about to go on stage.

“If you hire me to sing, respect me. I didn’t come for you to touch me,” the Nkwata Bulungi singer added.

“This mother****er was trying to be inappropriate with me in front of my team members. No shame, no remorse, nothing.”

She was so angry that she almost snubbed the performance, she shared.

“I thought about my job. Then after performing I punched myself. I was thinking ‘Why not just f***in return that money? Do I deserve the disrespect? No’. why do you look at women as objects? Don’t you have daughters? Treat the women you meet the same way you would want your daughters to be treated, please.”

The singer vented against men who abuse their power to use women as sexual objects.

It follows a number of incidents where female artistes like Vinka and Rena Nalumansi have previously been subjected to embarrassing acts including touching their crotch while on stage.

The latest case involved singer Martha Mukisa who was performing on stage in Maska last month when a fan rubbed his finger against her crotch area.

Last year, Sheebah posted a message condemning the vice of rape.

She wrote… “Teach your sons not to rape or we will teach our daughters how to kill.”

Sheebah’s frustration with sexual abuse has as much to do with morality as it does with her troubled past. Until her father passed on in 2018, the two had a bitter relationship.

This was largely due to the fact that the dad abandoned Sheebah’s mom, leaving her to struggle raising Sheebah and her siblings.

Days after he died, Sheebah’s mom opened up on how she (Sheebah) was in fact a product of a rape incident.

She told reporters back in 2018 that the day she conceived Sheebah, it was an outcome of a very violent rape by Sheebah’s late dad.
