Uganda’s Wildwaters Lodge could win ‘Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World’, if you vote

Wildwaters lodge sits on six hectares on Kalagala Island, on the banks of River Nile. The lodge can only be accessed by boat which makes it a very adventurous place to stay. It’s famous for white-water rafting or bungee jumping and gentler horse riding or fishing.

Uganda’s Wildwaters lodge situated on Kalagala island has made it to the finals of the Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World contest.

The contest is organized by Luxury Travel Advisor. The editors of Luxury Travel Advisor opened nominations, allowing hotels across the world to submit themselves for participation in the contest.

Submissions were narrowed to 64 hotels, which were then put into regional brackets and randomly paired up for their first-round matchups.

The winner of each round would then move on in the bracket to face their new opponent. The process repeats until one hotel – the Most Instagrammable Hotel in the World – is left standing.

In the final round, Wildwaters Lodge faces off with The Shore Club Turks and Caicos which won the previous competition. It’s located in Turks and Caicos, an archipelago of 40 low-lying coral islands in the Atlantic Ocean.

In the final round, Whitewater lodge represents Europe and Africa. To get there, it took down the winner of the Asia, Indian Ocean and South Pacific champ.

It upset last year’s runner-up Laqua Charme & Boutique (in Italy) with just over 79 percent of the vote in the opening round, eliminated the Shipwreck Lodge by getting 485 of 690 votes in the third round, then taking down Anantara New York Budapest Hotel in Round 2, by receiving just under 62 percent of the vote.
