Who wears laced-up gumboots? A King that’s always dripping

A millennial who turns 30 in April, the Omukama’s lifestyle is largely influenced by the times he has grown in. He is known to ‘understand the assignment’ and chooses his wardrobe meticulously.

King Oyo of Tooro Kingdom, being the youngest reigning monarch in the world, certainly is not your ordinary ruler. Neither is his personality.

A millennial who turns 30 in April, the Omukama’s lifestyle is largely influenced by the times he has grown in. He is known to ‘understand the assignment’ and chooses his wardrobe meticulously.

Royalty has not stopped him from being flexible whenever circumstances demand so. He’s known to step out and jog in the locales of Buziga, Munyonyo where he has a residence.

Recently, when he went to track chimpanzees in Kibale national park, he was pictured using his phone to personally record videos. Traits that align with the era he represents.

This week, at an agricultural-themed event during which the Minister of Agriculture, Frank Tumwebaze handed over tractors to the Kingdom of Tooro, King Oyo rocked laced-up knee-high gumboots.

The graduate of Winchester University in the United Kingdom is an embodiment of ‘never miss a moment’. Fashion is the last thing many will consider while going for a farm activity but King Oyo isn’t ‘many’, so he’s bringing all the drip.

He matched the army green boots (with orange sole) with a camouflage jacket. Then completed the look with a white Tee, navy blue pants and a black Oakley cap.
