To maneuver tedious recruitment processes, ‘BrighterMonday’ wants organizations to adopt HR tech

In advanced economies, HR technology is experiencing a boom driven by new demands around diversity, equity, inclusion and need to cut recruitment-related costs.

As work space dynamics continue to shift, largely influenced by tech disruption, online recruitment platform, BrighterMonday Uganda, is looking to help organizations position themselves for the future of recruitment and human resources management.

In advanced economies, HR technology is experiencing a boom driven by new demands around diversity, equity, inclusion and need to cut recruitment-related costs.

According to Worktech, global venture capital investment into HR tech since January 2017 has totaled $28.4 billion, with the pace of investment increasing each year.

Hybrid working which has resulted from the Covid-19 pandemic has awoken organizations to the need to do things differently by adapting tech-driven solutions.

Brian Ntambirweki CEO, BrighterMonday Uganda which provides placement for jobseekers, says: “We are aiming to digitize and transform HR productivity in Uganda, because our research shows that companies face a lot of challenges while recruiting, including; low quality pool of applicants, high cost of recruitment, limited time to go through recruitment process and high volume of applicants for the available positions.”

He was speaking Thursday at a stakeholder engagement themed “Leveraging Digital Solutions to Transform HR Productivity in Uganda”.

Ntabirweki said BrighterMonday Uganda has developed a suite of products that enable employers to leverage the platform’s technology and expertise to hire the right way.

Some of these; Basic, Standard, Best Match and Executive Recruitment, were highlighted at the event as the premium solutions to support HR managers to recruit and grow the businesses.

“We provide access to a good volume of quality candidates, and our intuitive platform allows employers to easily sort and short list qualified candidates. BrighterMonday has a variety of well-priced solutions for every business, and our platform is convenient and easy to use,” he added.

Experts say HR tech helps target the right candidates and speeds up the process mostly through the use of artificial intelligence. The most time-consuming part of the screening process has always been going through applications.

Companies like IBM, GE and Hilton Worldwide are among the growing number of organizations using technology to screen, test and hire new talent. All of them are using machines to scan candidates’ work samples, social media posts, and analyze their faces faces.

Tony Otoa, Chief Executive, Stanbic Business Incubator, said “….businesses that have not digitized especially their HR processes will find it hard to survive the shock and disruption of the pandemic and other unprecedented events”.

“BrighterMonday Uganda’s digitized solutions and verification process is transformational in a way of building trust with users, both companies and jobseekers and this is a timely event to establish itself as a trusted source in the job market,” he added.

The Best Match demo video highlighted the platform’s ability to give job postings prominence, assessing candidates on core competencies and quality scoring of the volumes of applicants in order to provide 10 best candidates within 10 working days after the job has been posted.
