Natasha Sinayobye lands Influencer Gig for MasterCard Foundation’s Covid campaign

Under the campaign, she will have discussions with different sets of people to understand how they have coped during this difficult period of the pandemic.

Popular model and actress, Natasha Sinayobye will be campaign influencer under MasterCard Foundation’s public awareness campaign against coronavirus.

The model announced this through her Instagram on Tuesday.

Under the campaign, she will have discussions with different sets of people to understand how they have coped during this difficult period of the pandemic.

She hopes, Sinayobye says, these stories will inspire someone out there.

“I’m so excited to work with MasterCard Foundation in combating Covid-19. Covid-19 came and changed everything. We live in a very different new normal now. Kids are not in school right now, they can’t even go out to play because Covid will affect them,” the entertainer said in a video post.

Mastercard Foundation is currently leading several projects across Africa in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Among these is COVIDHQ Africa, a platform in partnership with Zain Verjee Group, through which Africans are documenting and sharing their experiences with COVID-19, vaccination roll outs, and the knock-on effects of lockdowns and restrictions.

These experiences will inspire innovation and resilience as a way to facilitating Covid-19 recovery.

“I’m going to be working hand in hand with other people to sensitize the public about Covid-19. I’m going to be sharing stories of survival and how people see themselves in 5 years in this time of Covid. I just hope whatever I share can help someone out there and I hope you’re keeping yourself safe,” Sinayobye added.

Her gig comes four days after the release of ‘Sixteen Rounds’ a short film by acclaimed Director and writer, Loukman Ali in which Natasha Sinayobye starred together with Michael Wawuyo Jr. The film also features actors Raymond Rushabiro and Patriq Nkakalukanyi.

It follows a story of an army veteran looking for proof of his wife’s cheating so he can divorce her without sharing his wealth.

Out of anger, he butchers the wife’s boyfriend, hides the recording as evidence, in the same crime room and sets up his wife as the murderer. He is outsmarted by the wife, who cleans up the entire crime room and gives the evidence to the police.
